PRIME ENFORCER – SNIPPET 1

VERY UNEDITED (Please excuse typos)

Prime EnforcerValerie glared at the man running along the alley, the Pallicon she had told to meet at the exact spot he was running away from. Dammit, how was she supposed to make any progress when these bastards kept trying to betray her?

“Didn’t I tell him he had one hour to get back to me?” Valerie asked.

“I still say that was generous,” Robin replied. She stood next to Valerie on the rooftop under this wide dome of the moon hybrid space station on the outskirts of the Vurugu planetary system. Her body armor hid her petite but curvy frame, a fact that Valerie was glad about—less distractions always meant for better mission accomplishment.

And at times, the younger woman’s body could certainly be a distraction.

Their mission was paramount. A journey through a foreign galaxy to find a legendary Lost Fleet while also hoping to track down an evil shapeshifter and stop him from raising an army to face off against the Etheric Federation. Hell, if that wasn’t a challenge worth writing home about, Valerie wasn’t sure what was. Except that, lately they had been spending a lot of that time simply flying to reach their destination, which meant a lot of downtime. It had been a time of getting to know her team better—such as the fact that Corporal Flynn enjoyed air drying and didn’t seem bashful in the slightest, or the fact that Sergeant Garcia snored like three bears trying to kill the fourth, with loud snores. Space Dragons – Science Fantasy

SHADOW WORLDS

Space Dragons are AMAZING

Who here doesn’t love space dragons? It’s fun, right? You get science fiction, you get dragons. Sometimes there are elements of magic, lasers, explosions, aliens, exploring cool planets. Awesomeness! With that in mind, I wanted to share some out there now, including my own. I also have a new series in this style coming in 2018, so stay tuned!

Here’s what’s great about these stories – they follow the traditions of science fiction, but don’t hold back. They let us truly immerse ourselves in worlds never dreamed of, with magic and magical beasts in the way that expand our creative minds and give us that nostalgic feel of fantasy. What do you like about them?

SHADOW WORLDS – SNIPPET 1

THIS IS BOOK 2 IN THE SHADOW CORPS SERIES

SHADOW WORLDSA blast singed the edge of Samantha’s cloak and she pushed back against the wall, pissed. Even with all the training and fighting she had gone through, the cloak hadn’t actually been damaged.

Until now.

To make it sting that much more, she had been fighting a simple Kolack when she had been hit. Those little bastards seemed to breed like rabbits, inhabiting many of the planets Hadrian sent Samantha to for her skill-point grinding.

Still, she couldn’t help but wonder if the creatures were capable of such accuracy.

They weren’t the only enemy she had faced lately. Whenever she had the urge to go charging in and blasting something to bits—or cutting through hordes like a hot knife parting butter—she had the ancient magi send her to planets such as this. (more…)

VALERIE’S ELITES – SNIPPET 4

UNEDITED

A loud chirping sound came through the open cockpit door, and Kalan had piloted enough ships to recognize it. That was the proximity alert.

The Pallicon who had been shouting orders smiled.
“That’s their friends, isn’t it?” the old Skulla next to Kalan asked.
Kalan didn’t have time to wonder how the old female recognized the sound of a proximity alert from forty feet away. Instead, he focused on the fact that she was right. Likely it was a large ship that would take the small transport shuttle aboard, effectively making it impossible to locate once they’d stripped it.
If the larger ship had arrived, they were lost. The thing that got Kalan out of his seat was the thought of these Pallicons’ bosses boarding the transport to find the hijackers beaten silly and Kalan’s smiling face looking down on them.
As he was getting out of his seat, the Pallicon in the cockpit called to the others, “Uh, we’ve got a problem. There’s not one ship outside, there’s two. And the other one seems to be attacking ours.”

VALERIE’S ELITES – SNIPPET 3

UNEDITED (Skipping forward a bit…)

Civilian Transport Shuttle

Kalan knew he was in trouble the moment the airlock opened and the six Pallicons marched aboard, weapons drawn.

Up until then, it has been a fairly uneventful flight. He’d barely made it to the transport in time for departure to Tol, and when he’d seen how crowded the shuttle was, he’d almost wished he hadn’t. He’d even strongly considered getting off and transferring his ticket to the next shuttle, but that would mean missing his appointment, which would mean he wouldn’t get the job. And he badly needed the job.

So instead of getting off, he’d squeezed himself into a seat and waited for the transport to lift.

The passengers were mostly Skulla, but there were a few Pallicons too. He’d always envied Pallicons a little. They were shapeshifters, and Kalan would have given anything to be able to do that. (more…)

VALERIE’S ELITES – SNIPPET 2

Damu Michezo.

At the name, the aliens’ postures instantly got less aggressive and they looked at her with wide, intrigued eyes.

“You… You think you can compete in the Damu Michezo?” the lead one asked.

Valerie had to laugh. “I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine.”

The alien cracked his neck, pounded on his stone carapace, and said, “Show me.”

“What?”

“You beat me, I’ll point you in the right direction. In fact, there was a shuttle headed for the planet it’s held on not long ago. You might still be able to catch it, or at least chase it down and follow. Are you up to it?”

Robin smiled at Valerie, then shrugged and took a step back.

“I don’t want to hurt you,” Valerie warned. “I mean it.”

He scoffed. “I’ll tell you a little secret…no one has ever hurt me. You? I won’t worry. Come.”

Valerie tossed her rifle to Robin, and then her sword. She heard pounding and she turned back to see Qwaza charging damn fast. Valerie had fought her fair share of vampires and Weres on Earth, so she was used to speed. With a quick sidestep, she brought around her leg to sweep him. What she hadn’t counted on was his next move, which involved a fast sideways roll to compensate for her new location. He came up like a boulder, unraveling as he regained his footing, and slammed his forehead right into hers. (more…)

Allyson Johnson Narrated Syndicate Wars!

Allyson Johnson Syndicate WarsIf you’ve listened to such amazing audiobooks as Hyperion or the Honor Harrington series (David Webber), you’re familiar with the work of Allyson Johnson. Well guess what?

She has now narrated the SYNDICATE WARS BOXSET!

Publisher’s Summary

When an alien horde uses time loops to manipulate and enslave humanity, a Marine and her daughter are earth’s best chance for survival.

Quinn was a Marine sergeant hell-bent on ensuring that her young daughter had a world to grow up in. Now that an alien armada known as the Syndicate has invaded, that seems like a distant dream that will never be realized. But rather than accepting that the world she wanted was over, Quinn organizes a ragtag group of Marines and resistance fighters who take the fight to the aliens, even as they discover that things are not as they appear to be.

The world is on fire and Quinn and her small band of freedom fighters are the extinguisher.

The alien invasion is over and an occupation has begun. Trying to reach her mother, Quinn’s daughter, Samantha, has been stranded in a no-man’s land of shattered cities, broken dreams, and refugees. Already wise beyond her years, Samantha is forced to grow up quickly in the face of numerous life-or-death encounters, and soon links up with another group of guerrilla fighters to kick some serious alien butt.

It’s not a matter of if mother and daughter’s worlds will collide, but when…and once they do, the revolt against the alien invaders will never be the same.

The Syndicate leader, known as the Potentate, watches over everything, biding his time, working feverishly to manipulate the actions of Quinn and the others in the present and in past loops of time. Quinn and her daughter must stop the Syndicate by any means necessary, even if that includes magic and time travel.

Get ready for the thrill ride of a lifetime, because it’s going to get bloody messy.
