Fantasy Audiobook – Land of Gods

The new fantasy audiobook is at long last here – narrated by the amazing Jeff Hays! Check it out 😉

Narcel’s enslavers took everything from him: his family, the woman he loves, and his freedom. All he has left is his will to live and a burning hatred for his masters.

(“Relentlessly hypnotic and addictive pacing,” Matthew Ritter, writer of Retropunk and on the Walking Dead video game)

Years of living and training with the Mawtu changes Narcel. Once his sworn enemies, he now considers these men friends and brothers-at-arms. He’d be the perfect warrior if he could stop swooning over Kaire, the girl of his dreams.

Battle looms on the horizon and the Mawtu army faces its toughest challenge yet. Will Narcel side with his enslavers and lead their army to victory, or will he go after the girl and betray the army that took everything from him?

Fast-paced action, a love triangle, and bitter revenge. As Game of Thrones is based on the Wars of the Roses, Land of Gods is the first book in an epic fantasy series based on Ancient Greek wars.

Review

Some fantasy is defined by the world created. Some fantasy is defined by the characters living larger than life stories. Justin Sloan’s work, especially in Land of the Gods is not defined by either of these. Rather, his stories have a relentlessly hypnotic and addictive pacing. Justin knows how to fit more into ten pages than most writers cram into whole books.

— Matthew Ritter (Writer on Tales from the Borderlands, Walking dead; Creator of Retropunk, Nova Phase)

Easily the most captivating book I have read this year. The writing was easy to read, well paced, and descriptive enough without being entangling. I was quickly sucked in by the story and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

It’s strength is in its unique love story and its conflict between brothers in arms. An easy, light read that offers something quite fresh.

★★★★★  Great story of youth, brothers, love and loss set in a world of gods, wars, kings and servants. This story takes so many twists and turns you don’t want to put it down in case you miss something. You will want to read the second book as soon as you finish the first. I can’t wait to read the third!
